Community

Your club, our community

Together,

we can build a strong and lively community.

Each and every year The Shellharbour Club supports a number of local not-for-profit organisations, charities and sports organisations providing enormous benefits to the Shellharbour community.

This generosity is all part of the ClubGRANTS Scheme which ensures larger Registered Clubs provide financial support to their local community including front-line services and community projects.

The Club supports a number of community initiatives addressing community health, welfare and social services, employment assistance activities as well as community development programs and support activities, such as junior sport.

In line with the Club’s vision, ‘to enable our community to reach its highest potential’, the Club endeavours to not only provide funding assistance but to also foster solid partnerships with local groups.

how to apply

Does your local community group need a funding boost? Learn more about the ClubGRANTS scheme!

ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest grant programs.

Last year alone, The Shellharbour Club contributed more than $400,000 to worthy causes in our local community.

Under this scheme, there are three categories in which community organisations can apply for grants:

Category 1 covers expenditure on specific community welfare and social services, community development, community health services and employment assistance activities. Category 1 funding is assessed by the local ClubGRANTS committee made up of representatives from Shellharbour City Council, NSW Council of Social Services, Family and Community Services and a number of Clubs from Shellharbour and it’s surrounds.

Applications for the Shellharbour Local Committee’s Category 1 grants open on 1 February and close on 31 May each year.

Category 2 covers expenditure on other community development and support services. Under this category, traditional areas of club expenditure such as support for sport and recreation groups are offered financial assistance. Category 2 funding is assessed and administered by the individual Clubs – in this case, The Shellharbour Club!

Applications for The Shellharbour Club’s Category 2 grants open on 1 February and close on 31 May each year.

Category 3 covers funding can be provided for large scale projects like designing, building, upgrading, renewing, funding or acquiring land or property for projects and services that are within the categories of sport, health or community. The ClubGRANTS Category 3 Fund is managed by the Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing within NSW Trade & Investment.  Information on the funding application process is available on the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing website.
