More than 100 @shellharbour.sharksrlfc players, coaches and club leaders participated in mental fitness education in the lead up to Group 7s Mental Health Awareness Round this weekend.
Thanks to a partnership between the Club, Healthier Illawarra Men and @themanwalk, the pilot program is giving players practical tools to notice changes in their teammates, understand the importance of checking in, truly listen and have supportive conversations when they matter most.
The Shellharbour Sharks have embraced the opportunity, creating space for honest conversations and learning how to better look out for one another… on and off the field.
This Saturday, they’ll carry that message with them as they run out in their blackout jerseys, each designed to do something bigger than represent the team: start a conversation around mental health. Because sometimes, simply asking a teammate if they’re OK can mean more than we realise.
